Windows 11 will also not be calling home thanks to O&O ShutUp10++
Just in time for the scheduled release of Windows 11, O&O Software presents the new version of its very popular Antispy tool, O&O ShutUp10++. It’s clearly laid-out design allows users to easily close various security gaps in Windows 11 according to their own personal requirements and preferences.
The problem
Keyboard entries are recorded, private data are sent to Microsoft and various applications. WLAN passwords no longer have to be entered as some services now share these with Facebook contacts, or the computer connects with a potentially unprotected public network – without asking permission. All these factors and more mean a user’s daily computing experience with Windows 11 is very comfortable, but they also pose significant security risks. To counter these risks, users of Windows 11 have to deactivate the data sharing functions manually. Without expert knowledge, this can prove extremely difficult as some of the settings are very well hid within the system.
The solution
With the new freeware O&O ShutUp10++, unwanted features can be disabled and the transfer of sensitive personal data onto Microsoft prevented under Windows 10 as well as under Windows 11. The program provides tips and information so it is clear which functions can be safely deactivated and which not. Any changes made can be undone at any time with just one click of the mouse.
Along with the extension for Windows 11, the user interface has been structurally redesigned and support for Dark Mode integrated.
